The Master’s Certificate in Missions is a one-year graduate Certificate in biblical and missionary studies. The programme equips Christians to live more biblical lives at home, in the church, at work, and in Christian ministry. Students are equipped to fulfill the Great Commission of Jesus Christ more effectively at home and abroad. The programme is designed for both lay Christians and full-time Christian workers. The Master’s Certificate is divided into three parts: the academic coursework, the Master’s Thesis, and the successful completion of the Seminary Bible Board Examination.
The academic coursework for the Master’s Certificate includes 14 graduate-level courses in five departments of study: Bible, Missions, Theology, Church History, and Practical Theology. This includes 13 standard Courses and a one week Mission Expo Course that is conducted at the Seminary. The coursework can be completed on a part-time or full-time basis through either Distance Studies or Extension Studies. Distance students study largely from home. They report to the Seminary once a year for one or two weeks for the Mission Expo Course and to take written final examinations. Extension students report to the Seminary three times a year (once each term) for 5 days each and for an additional week to complete the Mission Expo Course.
Throughout their studies Distance and Extension students are expected to be actively involved in local ministry in their church & community and to participate in different mission outreaches organized by the Seminary. These mission outreaches are funded by the students themselves. Master’s students also write a Master’s Thesis, an extensive research paper on one pre-approved topic of study. Lastly, students complete the Seminary Bible Board Examination.
This comprehensive Bible examination tests the students overall knowledge of the Scriptures. A passing score of 70% or above is required for graduation. The Master’s Certificate provides an excellent opportunity for Christians in all walks of life to gain a growing knowledge of the Word of God and greater skills in Christian service. The programme is accredited with The Association of Independent Christian Colleges & Seminaries (AICCS), a recognized accrediting board in the United States of America. The specific Course Listing can be found under “Academic Programmes”.
