The Master of Arts Degree in Missions is a 2-year graduate Degree in biblical & missionary studies. The programme equips Christian men & women to fulfill the Great Commission of Jesus Christ worldwide. The Master of Arts in Missions is designed to prepare Christians to serve as mission advocates in their own culture or as missionaries in another culture. The programme is biblical, contextual & practical, highly relevant for today’s church & world. Five departments of study are offered including Bible, Missions, Theology, Church History & Practical Theology. The Master of Arts in Missions is divided into three successive parts: the academic coursework, the Master’s Thesis, and the completion of the Seminary Bible Board Examination.
The academic coursework includes the successful completion of 27 graduate-level courses over a period of two years. Students may study part-time or full-time. Students are required to be actively involved in Christian ministry in their church & community throughout their studies. They also participate in mission outreaches organized by the Seminary. Students are responsible to cover their own costs for the mission outreaches. After the academic coursework is completed students write a Master’s Thesis. The Master’s Thesis requires high levels of research writing, analysis, interpretation & application of the subject matter.
The Master of Arts Degree finalizes with the successful completion of the Seminary Bible Board Examination, a comprehensive exam testing the students knowledge of subjects studied. Master of Arts Degree students may study by Extension or Distance (correspondence). Extension students report 5 days per term, 3 terms per year, plus 1 additional week for the Missions Expo I & II courses each year. Distance Students study largely from home, reporting to the Seminary once a year for 2 weeks to complete the Missions Expo Course & take final examinations. The Master of Arts Degree is accredited with the Association of Independent Christian Colleges and Seminaries, a recognized accrediting board in Missouri of the USA (aiccs.org).
